Stanford University is offering a free online Introduction to Artificial Intelligence class:  https://www.udacity.com/

It will be headed up by Sebastian Thrun and Peter Norvig.  Norvig led the team that won the DARPA Grand Challenge.

A solid understanding of probability and linear algebra will be required.
